The film was written and directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi. Anirudh Ravichander created the soundtrack for this film, the cinematography was handled by K. M. story

The movie starts with Chakaravarthi (sivakarthikeyan) he narrates the story based on his college life while driving a car in a heavy rain desperately trying to reach his college, as he was welcome as a chief guest and also to get his engineering degree. Ganesan (chakaravarthi’s father) is a strict father he always cares only about chakaravarthi’s education and future. chakaravarthi is always a last bench student he is not much interested in studies. finding his own skill to achieve big success in his life. chakaravarthi falls in love with Angaiyarkanni when he did his schooling. When angaiyarkanni reciprocates his feelings, ganesh had seen that and they were separated. angaiyarkkani’s father changed her to another school and they shifted their home. Then chakaravathi joins BEC(Best Enginneering College)where he is called as Don, As he confronts Bhoominathan(college discipline head) Whom everyone detests. Meanwhile angaiyarkanni joined the BEC and they were met again. There love were successfully started again. Don found that he has a good skill in writing so, he decided to became a director. He convey this to her father but ganesan behave rudely to Don about his aim. even though his father is not supported he want to became a directed so that he decided to venture into film-making by attending a short film competition. finally chakravarthi’s short film gets shortlisted to the top and ends up that’s turned into a feature film. The film his about chakaravarthi’s own bonding with his father and his realisation that ganesan did for him before he died. Later Chakravathi marries Angaiyarkanni. Atlast don have been added to the Proud Alumni list at BEC which something he asked from Bhoominath, as he wish to be in his college.

So far, The makers of the movie Don have announced the OTT release date on June 10, 2022, from 12:30 PM, as well as the popular OTT platform Netflix for streaming. However, the movie had already hit the theater screen on 13th May 2022. Actually, the movie was first planned to release in March but it has been postponed from March to May.
